World Clean Up Day 2025 was marked at Machakos University under the theme “Tackling Textile and Fashion Waste through Circular Fashion.”
The NECC team, led by Chairman Hon. Godana Doyo, Committee Secretary Ms. Mary Njogu, and Committee Members Mr. Ernest Kioko, HSC, and Mr. Brian Onderi, participated in the celebrations, which included a major cleanup exercise at Sokoni area in Machakos Town.
In his remarks, Hon. Doyo underscored the need for all stakeholders to take deliberate action on waste management, emphasizing that everyone has a responsibility to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
World Clean Up Day was established by a United Nations General Assembly resolution to promote collaboration among citizens, governments, organizations, and businesses in addressing waste management challenges and fostering a cleaner, more sustainable world.
